In the Garden Series

Size: 4x4 , matted to 8x8 inch

A collection of intimate 4 x 4 in. watercolor monotypes, each matted to 8 x 8 in., inspired by the fleeting colors, rhythms, and quiet magic of an abstract garden.

Every piece begins on a plexiglass plate brushed with a thin layer of gum arabic. Onto this smooth surface, I build the image slowly—painting with watercolors and water-soluble pencils in delicate layers that shift, merge, and react in unexpected ways. When the moment feels right, the plate is placed on the etching press and the image is hand-pulled onto damp paper, revealing soft textures and subtle marks that can only emerge through this process.

Each print is completely unique, a one-of-a-kind impression shaped by color, touch, and that brief instant when pigment, pressure, and imagination meet. Together, these small pieces form a tender, abstract garden—full of movement, quiet joy, and the gentle surprises found in nature.
