Bold Brush competition May 2020 - 2 entries

Hello,

I entered 2 works to May 2020 Bold Brush competition. I hope you will find them interesting

1.

"Stay Positive"

"Stay Positive" - was created a few weeks ago during the Covid lock-down. Painting it was for me a way to battle negative emotions - anxiety about the situation and sadness about being so far from my home country and my close family and friends. I also wanted to create something, which will evoke positive feelings in others. I believe art can heal and help to manage the challenges we are facing.

2.

"The beginning"

"The Beginning" was created in 2019. It's a very energetic, colorful mixed media painting. It was inspired by the color RED.

The strong visual statement, ideal for a modern, contemporary interior.

"Joy" - chosen as April 2020 Fav15

So, I am new to the US. I've been here only since Dec 2019. One day,  while searching the internet I found info about Bold Brush competition, so I decided to enter for the first time ever my work into the contest.  It was one of my favorites paintings "Joy". It's the first painting  from my Emotion series . "Joy"  was created during the live event in one of the art galleries in Warsaw, Poland. There was live music played by a great musician and all my artist friends painting at the same time.  What a great atmosphere for creativity !!! I remember I loved being there and creating.

What a nice surprise - a few days ago I received an e-mail saying that my work was chosen as FAV 15% in April 2020.  My "Joy" painting brought me JOY  with this recognition.

There are 2 more paintings from the emotion series "Happiness" and "Hope".  I hope they will also bring a lot of happiness and hope to me and future collectors.

See how joyful I was while creating "Joy" painting

Welcome to my blog

Dear Art Lovers,

This is my first blog post, so I want to take a chance and introduce myself.

My name is Marta. I was born and raised in a communist Poland, and during all childhood  I was dreaming about traveling and visiting the world (which was not possible at that time). Since the early years I liked dancing and singing, but frankly speaking, I was never really into visual art. My older brother was a writer, so he was the "artist" in a house. I was rather focusing on math and didn't "allow" myself to develop my creative side.

As soon as the Polish borders have opened after the change of the system I started traveling and still this is one of my biggest passions - visiting new beautiful places, taking photos, appreciating the world. In my private and work-related travels I had a chance to visit many European countries, the US, Canada, China, Thailand, and others. My travels are a  huge inspiration for me in my art - colors, shapes, emotions. Blue ocean, vibrant colorful tropical flowers,  emotions, which you experience while seeing and smelling lavender fields in Provence or while drinking coffee in a small cafe place in Tuscany. All of that influence my art and my artistic voice now

I also love meeting and working with people from diverse cultures -I am an intercultural trainer & coach and help people in smooth cultural adjustment when they move to a new country. Last December (2019) I relocated myself to NJ, US.
I think another huge inspiration for my art are those imaginary worlds, I've seen in the movies. I am a big fan of Sci-Fi movies, I also like magic realism in visual arts.

For many years I wanted to start painting, but never allowed it myself, thinking that I had no talent. But finally one rainy day, being 43 at that time  (in 2016) I enrolled for a painting course organized by one of the art galleries in Warsaw, Poland. This changed my life. Painting, creating, designing became my passion, and now my second career. Since the start, I've been continuing my art development. I have attending art  courses at different art schools in Poland, UK and now in the US (Warsaw School of Fine arts, Leith School of Art, Art Students League of New York)

With my art I want to bring to people positive emotions - joy, happiness, energy. I want people to stop and reflect, appreciate the world around them, see what has real meaning for them.

I hope you will join me on my artistic journey

Marta
