Reflecting on "Plates, Press, and Possibilities" – A Journey in Printmaking

I am filled with gratitude as I reflect on my recent solo exhibition, "Plates, Press, and Possibilities," which was on display from February 15 to March 16 at The Healing Arts Gallery in Summit, NJ. This show marked a significant milestone in my artistic journey, focusing exclusively on printmaking—a medium that continually inspires and challenges me.

The exhibition featured a selection of collagraphs, monotypes, and abstract carborundum prints, each piece a testament to the transformative power of printmaking. Through layered textures, organic forms, and experimental mark-making, I aimed to push the boundaries of traditional techniques, uncovering new possibilities within the abstract realm. The title of the show encapsulates this exploration: utilizing plates, working with the press, and embracing the myriad possibilities that emerge throughout the creative process.

I was deeply touched by the support and presence of everyone who attended the exhibition. Friends, fellow artists, and new acquaintances visited during the opening and subsequent events, engaging in thoughtful conversations and sharing their interpretations of the works. Your presence and insights enriched the experience and reinforced the communal nature of art.

During the "Meet the Artist" event on March 15,  I had the opportunity to share my creative process more intimately. Displaying my printmaking plates alongside the finished pieces allowed visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the techniques and materials involved. Discussing the intricacies of collagraphs and carborundum prints and answering your insightful questions was truly rewarding, fostering a deeper connection between the art and its audience.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to The Healing Arts Gallery for providing a supportive and inspiring space to showcase my work. Their commitment to fostering local artists and creating a platform for artistic expression is invaluable.

Looking ahead, I am excited to announce my participation in the upcoming A8A Group Show at The Healing Arts Gallery in April.  In this exhibition, I will present three new abstract figurative monoprints that delve into themes of relationships, emotional connections, and the invisible threads that bind us. I invite you to join me in exploring these new works and continuing the conversation about art and human connection.

Reflections on Superfine NYC, May 2024 : My Artwork Lights Up a Billboard Next to Times Square and Feature in Local Article"

It's been a while since my last blog post, so it's high time I rectified that. Last week marked my participation in the Superfine Art Fair in NYC. This was my fourth time exhibiting with Superfine (once in Miami, and now four times in NYC). Once again, it was a fantastic experience - showcasing my work, discussing it with others, reconnecting with familiar faces, and forging new connections within the artistic community. This year, I showcased several acrylic paintings in a blue and white color scheme, watercolor paintings, and for the first time, collagraph prints from my new collection.

However, amidst the excitement of the event, two particularly pleasant surprises awaited me this year.
This time, the venue was situated in the heart of Manhattan, within one of the office buildings adjacent to Times Square. Throughout the duration of the art fair, Superfine was prominently advertised on one of the billboards. I was thrilled to discover that my digital collage, "When orange meets blue"  series was among the 20 artworks featured on the billboard. Witnessing your own artwork displayed on such a grand scale is truly awe-inspiring.

Additionally, I was elated to find that the same artwork, accompanied by a brief description of myself, was showcased in an article titled "N.J. Artists Shine at SUPERFINE Art Fair This Weekend," published on mosaic.nj.com.

Here is the link to the article:   https://mosaic.nj.com/news/2024/05/nj-artists-shine-at-superfine-art-fair-this-weekend.html

It was my 7th art fair during last 2 years and I am really grateful I had a chance to share my art with so many people.

Few pictures from the last print exhibitions

As I have mentioned in my former blog posts 3 of my monotype prints were exhibited during 2 shows organized by the Monotype Guild of New England.

During the "Priority Prints" exhibition (Sept-Oct 2021),  hosted by Stone Valley Arts at Fox Hill in a charming small town in Vermont, I had a chance to present 2 of my works "Retro Joy - Blue" and "Retro Joy- Red". It was so great to meet other artists (also members of the Monotype Guild of New England) and see their beautiful works.

The second juried exhibition titled "ImPRESSive"  (Oct - Nov 2021) was organized in the beautiful building of Rhode Island Watercolor Society in Pawtucket, RI. 75 monotypes/monoprints by very talented members of MGNE and juried by Adrian Tió, Professor of Fine Arts in the College of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth were shown during the show. I had a chance to present my work titled "In the network 2.0". Work is a part of a series of 4 monotype prints.
